Northwest Windjammers is a fleet of sailing vessels that sail the Puget Sound waters of Washington State and lower Canada.
These classic maritime sailing vessels participate in local races, city maritime events, charters, sail training and unique group outings.
It is really something to lay upon the deck of a classic sailing ship and view the stars and spars overhead. It is like stepping back in time three hundred years into a different world.
I remember the day when an Orca whale swam alongside my ship with her calf. For half and hour she sang to me and I sang back. She eyed the rigging and the flags flying from the Kia's spars. Together we shared those precious moments that made me wake up to the reality that the world is truly ancient and we are merely moments indeed. These are the stories lived at sea, the kind of story, which you do not experience watching the world go by on your tv.
